My dad got this second hand table saw from the garage sale, it's a united 401 table saw, does anyone know about this brand? I heard tht it's a knockoff of the delta unisaw. idk if that's true lol. Anyway, it need a cast iron table top and the side leaves (well, it's a second hand, so it's not perfect lol). I'm thinking of buying the Delta one for this purpose. Do you think it would work? Or does anyone here have better ideas?

Never heard of the United 401, but if it's a knockoff of the Delta Unisaw, then you're basically gambling on how well they copied it. Some of these off-brand saws are decent enough with some tuning, but others are like using a wobbly shopping cart with a rusted-out wheel. If the trunnions and fence system are solid and the motor isn't held together by hope and zip ties, then upgrading with Delta parts might work. But if the casting and alignment are sketchy, you might be throwing good money after bad. Maybe test it out, see if it cuts straight, and if not, well, at least you got a nice boat anchor.

it looks decent to me, just need to replace some parts. Does anyone have ideas where to get the parts?

not sure about this one. I got curious and searched this saw on the net, but i can't seem to find a photo of how it looks like. no results for the parts replacement either

Haven't heard of this. Not showing a lot of info as well on the net. maybe you can check this with the seller. Just to make sure you're not wasting money on parts that wont work

You're right, finding parts can be a pain. I've heard the 22-560 is pretty solid too. What projects are you thinking of using it for? I've noticed that the United 401 is kind of like a Delta Unisaw, so parts might not match up exactly. It's a good idea to measure everything and check the mounting spots before getting a Delta cast iron top or side leaves. Did you measure your saw yet? You might need some custom fitting. Have you looked at any suppliers for parts that might work?

Yeah, that United 401 thing? Sounds like the old Craftsman copy my uncle had. Nothing ever really fit right. He and a buddy ended up making adapter plates or even getting custom tops laser-cut. You're gonna need exact measurements and probably some custom work.
