I got a cheap sprayer that I want to use for painting wood with latex paint, but I'm struggling with something. The tip seems to be too narrow and it doesn't spray properly. Can I thin out the paint or will I need to get a bigger nozzle?

Yeah, you can definitely thin latex paint with water,start with about 10% and test it but if it's still sputtering, you'll probably need a bigger nozzle for smooth flow

Don't overdo it or it won't stick right. If that still clogs up, might be time to grab a bigger tip. Been there myself, cheap sprayers can be picky.

Hope your sprayer tip is not too narrow because no mater what you use it'll struggle no matter what, latex is thicker so you'll need a nozzle sized for it usually something like a .015 to .017 tip works better
