Good Morning All,
I am looking for a drive belt for the take off from the sanding disc to the belt sander, it is about x 535mm length v shaped 6mm down to 3mm and 8mm depth.

I think its not a bad idea to check out some sewing machine or small appliance belts, I think its a worthy improvisation because the dimensions sound close to some of the poly V belts or rubber drive belts used in older machinery

Hey @Bollins, if you still have the old belt, try looking up model numbers or markings stamped on it, sometimes they're faint but still readable. Also sander's manufacturer might still stock replacements or at least give you the exact spec to match if you've got a model number

I once helped my dad fix an old belt sander, and we actually found a pretty good match using some belts from vintage appliances. It worked surprisingly well! If you have an old belt, definitely take a look at any markings on it, or consider contacting the manufacturer for the specs. Sometimes, those small belts can fit different tools or machines

Okay, so the first step should be to find the original belt, but since you're asking for advice on a forum, I'll assume that's not an option. In that case your only option is to improvise with any belt that will fit right, like @IntoTheWoods mentioned. Whatever you do, make sure the tension is identical to the factory one if possible to keep the machine working optimally.
