I'm about to do the flooring at home and i got a very beautiful American cherry flooring. Since i'm not a professional i wanna ask what type of finish i should use? I want both durability and good look.

Oil-based polyurethane is a choice because of durability and it also gives it a good look. It'll bring out the rich tones of the cherry and hold up well over time. but... If youre okay with less ambering and a quicker drying time, a water based poly works too, but it won't deepen the color as much.
