White oak

I'll be hones, I haven't worked with white oak before, so there's something that got me thinking. I plan to make some small renovations in my home and one of the projects is the floor and white oak seems to be a good choice for various reasons. The problem is that yesterday I called up a local company to order the materials and the guy on the phone said to get some help for the planks. Is it really that heavy? Again, first time working with white oak, so it's a new world for me

White oak is a great choice! So gorgeous and these are really strong. But yeah, definitely heavier than some other woods. I suggest getting an extra set of hands to make things easier. Are you planning to install it yourself? Sounds like an exciting upgrade!

Yes, they're surprisingly heavy especially when you're dealing with longer or thicker pieces, and when you need to carry them upstairs!
But like what @hann0yeft, it's really a great choice for flooring, both for its durability and aesthetic purposes!

Yeah, white oak is no joke when it comes to weight. It's dense and durable, which is great for flooring, but moving those planks alone will wear you out fast. Do you have anyone who will help you?
