Using pentacryl for cookies

Getting back to work after years and I came across this thing called pentacryl? Is it just polyethylene glycol or different because the hype for that one did not last at all. Anyway I'm looking for options to displace moisture and prevent cookie cracking, got redirected to a site selling pentacryl saying they "revolutionized" green wood stabilization lol but it just is quite unbelievable. Have you all had any experience with it? If yes do you recommend and if no, why not?

yeah, I heard it before, people called it PEG, popular a few times ago, but somehow no one use it anymore. at least I never use it

Pentacryl is not the same as straight PEG. It’s a proprietary mix designed to penetrate green wood and replace water while reducing shrinkage and it has been used by turners and carvers for cookies and slabs with better results than untreated drying. Keep in mind that it slows drying rather than stopping it, so sealing the end grain after treatment is still important to minimize checking. Have you already cut your cookies and are looking to stabilize them now or are you still deciding whether to invest in Pentacryl before starting the project?
