Looking for foam or rubber seal

Has anyone here tried using a birch plywood? I'm making a small tool box out of it, using about 1/2" birch plywood. This will it outside on my porch, so I want to keep out dust and light rain. I'm using soft-close hinges for the lid.

Thinking of adding a thin foam or rubber strip around the edge to help seal it when it's shut. Does anyone know a good kind to use or where to buy it? It would be great if it sticks easily and lasts outside. Thanks!

Cool build! I made a garden bench box with 1/2" birch plywood last spring. It worked well once I sealed and finished it. For the edge, I used sticky EPDM rubber strip from the hardware store. It stayed on and kept out light rain. Just clean the surface before you stick it. What kind of finish are you putting on the wood?

@1000yards nice project! For outdoor use, EPDM or silicone foam strips stick well and handle moisture. Make sure the surface is clean and dry before applying, and maybe test a small section first. What finish are you planning for the birch?
