I started wearing lab coats again in the shop and I kinda forgot how handy they are. They keep my clothes clean, they've got solid pockets, and in the winter they're warm enough that I don't have to layer up too much. The best trick is when I'm turning.... wear it backwards and suddenly no more chips down the shirt. Makes life way less itchy.
Of course, they're hot as hell in summer and yeah, you look like a total geek. I keep rubber bands on the sleeves so they don't slide down near the machines, which works fine. Anybody else doing this or am I the only one out here raiding the lab supply aisle for shop gear?
