Hudson Forge Planes, are they worth the hype?

I've been hearing a lot of buzz about Hudson Forge planes lately, and I'm curious as to if they really are as good as people claim? I know they market themselves as premium hand planes built with precision, but I haven't had the chance to try one myself, maybe I should try it out ?, I dont know
For those who've used them, how do they compare to traditional brands like Lie-Nielsen or Veritas? are they worth the investment, or are there better options in the same price range?
Also, any recommendations on which hudson forge model is best for general woodworking? Looking for something versatile for smoothing and jointing.

Oh, I know that Hudson Forge planes are of great quality at a reasonable price. I did some digging, and for starter you need to get the Block plane, then fore plane, and Smoothing plane

Hmm. For me, they are well made and perform okay, but they are not magic tools. If you already like Lie Nielsen or Veritas, Hudson Forge is more of a preference upgrade than a necessity.
